How does the process work?
1. Schedule an appointment to meet with the doctor for a consultation and evaluation
2. Bring you medical records and photo ID to prove California residency
3. Complete a few forms, consult with the doctor
4. If the doctor agrees medical marijuana may aid in providing relief from your ailment, you will
receive your recommendation
What does a doctor recommendation do for me?
A doctor’s recommendation enables you, as a qualified patient, to grow your own medicine or obtain your medicine from a collective/dispensary.
Under Prop 215 and SB420, a doctor’s recommendation should provide you legal protection from law enforcement provided you are in compliance with state and local guidelines.
The state minimum guidelines for a qualified patient include up to 8 dried ounces of medicinal flowers and allows for cultivation of six mature or 12 immature plants.
We provide valid, compliant, 100% legal referrals/recommendations for medical marijuana with a consultation performed by a licensed medical doctor, never a physician’s assistant or nurse.

What if I don’t have medical records?
Under the California Medical Board guidelines, the doctor must review the patient’s medical records to substantiate the ailment. We recognize patients often do not have their medical records. Consult your primary physician about medical cannabis and ask him to provide you with a letter describing your condition.

What kinds of ailments does the doctor allow in order to recommend medical marijuana for me?
There are many documented diseases and ailments for which medical marijuana may offer relief, including cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, and migraines.

Can I get my medicine from you?
No, we are not a dispensary or collective.
Where can I get my medicine?
We cannot provide our patients with any specific dispensary or collective where to get your medicine. We suggest using the internet, where a local dispensary is relatively easy to find.
Can I legally grow marijuana and if so how much?
With a recommendation from Orange Medical Marijuana, you may cultivate a certain number of plants, depending on the county in which you live. For a list of regulations in each county, click here.
Do you take insurance?
We do not currently accept insurance, however, if you are a Medi-Cal or Medicare patient, call us and we’ll see what we can do. We never want cost to get between medicine and a patient.
